Sarah Mispagel-Lustbader now serves her chocolate cake from The Bear
Former Michelin-starred pastry chef and pastry consultant at the bear, Sarah Mispagel-Lustbader and her husband Ben Lustbader opened the Loaf Lounge bakery cafe in Avondale, and now you can taste chocolate cake from the bear.
Loaf Lounge at 2934 N. Milwaukee Avenue is a bread-focused “all-day cafe and bakery” that started as a pandemic pop-up where they sold their artisan breads, delicious sandwiches and pastries to their friends. restaurants already established, including a six-month stretch at Superkhana International in Logan Square where Lustbader had worked part-time.
Mispagel-Lustbader, who has worked as a pastry chef at restaurants including mk, Nightwood and Sepia, was the Chicago-based pastry consultant for Hulu’s summer hit. the bear.
