Grilled baby vegetables with hummus cream and red pepper coulis – $4.75
Grilled veggies are a solid vegetarian choice. It’s not a flashy dish and has a pretty basic flavor palate. The dish includes well-roasted carrots, zucchini and tomatoes. The vegetables are served with a red pepper coulis and hummus cream, which was our favorite part of the dish. The hummus was your typical hummus, but the red pepper coulis added a splash of rich flavor to the plate.
Impossible™ Sausage and Kale Soup – $5.25
It looks rude. That being said, we were really surprised by the quality of the taste. Each bite has just enough kale flavor with a spicy kick. Unfortunately, this event takes place during some of the warmer months, so we don’t expect it to be too popular.
Impossible™ Boneless Korean Short Ribs with Cilantro-Lime Rice, Danmuji Slaw and Kimchee Mayonnaise – $6.75
The theme of this review will be that Impossible produces better food than Disney orders because it was better than any other beef dish at the event. It tasted like real tender short ribs, was well seasoned and very tasty, served with a pretty good bed of cilantro lime rice.
*NEW* Chocolate Cake with Blackcurrant Whipped Mousse, Raspberry Gelato and Fresh Raspberries – $4.75
We enjoyed the consistency of the cake and filling, but ultimately this dish was flavorless.
The cake was soft. The filling was airy and light. The consistency goes through more than the actual flavor, which is just a hint of chocolate and whipped cream.
The fresh raspberries on top had the most flavor of the dish.
The gelato on the side was great too, and there was a new raspberry kick.
Twinings of London® Energize Matcha Cranberry & Lime Green Tea (alcohol-free) – $4.50
It just tasted like cranberry juice with lime (and diluted cranberry juice to boot). Don’t bother ordering this.
Parish Brewing Co. Bloom Hazy IPA, Broussard, LA (7.0% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz, $9.00 for 12 oz.
Parish Brewing Co. describes their Bloom Hazy IPA as “a juicy, smooth, hazy IPA absolutely loaded with Simcoe and Nugget hops. Often described as “bright and floral”, Bloom lacks the resinous, piney flavors of many IPAs, but instead exhibits a depth of citrus undertones with an intense juicy layering.
Twinings of London® Energize Matcha Cranberry & Lime Green Tea with Hangar 1 Makrut Lime Vodka ($30/bottle) Served in a Mason Jar – $11.00
Honestly, vodka does a lot to fix this drink, but not enough. The vodka seemed to take out all the other intended flavors though. Pass this one.
