America’s chocolate brands are spreading the love this Valentine’s Day


A 2021 survey by the National Confectioners Association claims that 84% of Americans think chocolate and candy are a fun part of special celebrations, including Valentine’s Day, while 87% of Americans enjoy chocolate and candy seasonal Valentine’s Day.

When asked how they select a treat from a box of Valentine’s Day chocolates, 50% of Americans said they found the “card” and carefully chose one, 31% said they chose one one at random, 13% of people said they bite the corner to determine the filling and only 6% of respondents bite the bottom to find out the flavor.

In a box of Valentine’s Day chocolates, people say they’re looking for:

  • 32% – caramel
  • 24% – chocolate covered nuts
  • 21% – filled with chocolate
  • 11% – cream filled
  • 9% – coconut
  • 3% – other


Belgian luxury brand GODIVA is sharing love and chocolate with New Yorkers in a big way, it announced, with two life-size installations of its Gold Ballotin and Goldmark Heart boxes set to appear in New York on February 9. at Herald Square and February 9 at Flatiron Plaza offering visitors plenty of samples of its high-end offerings.
